There, the ascent to the MADONNA DEL GHISALLO begins which is 8,7 km long. The first 4 km have an averaged gradient of 9%. A less steep ascent starts in the village Guello (630m) which is 3 km long and leads to Civenna (620m). The last part of the ascent is more challenging including a lot of hairpin bends and ascent percentages of up to 10%. The well-known GHISALLO (750m) is situated on the peak. There, the church Madonnal del Ghisallo can be found, the patron saint of the racing cyclists. After this ascent, the tour continues with an easy descent to Asso (490m) where a sharp turn right starts the ascent to Colma di Sormano (1135m). You pass the village Sormano (800m) during this ascent which is 9,5km long. The averaged ascent percentages are between 6 to 7%. There is a little astronomic observatory on the pass. There the rapid descent begins. Your reach the ski resort PIANO DEL TIVANO (975m) after 2km. You will see the Comer See. Continuing the descent, you pass Zelbio (800m) and the descent finally ends in the village Nesso (280m). Now you are agian on the street SS. 583 with a slight gradient which is winding along the COMER-SEE and where you will face short gradients and rapid descents. You rapidly pass the villages Faggeto Lario, Torno, and Blevio. The finish is on a broad street in downtown of Como (220m) directly on the lakeside.
